Sorry For The Delay, Folks!

I'm a bit behind on the blog, but we've been busy! This past weekend we headed down to Indy to visit Grammy & Papa and to meet up with Dr. Zimmer and his wife, Sherri, for lunch. I got to check out the clinic that we're hoping Daddy will get into after graduation. I loved it and I'm really keeping my fingers crossed for Daddy! Grammy & Papa watched Jake during that time and squealed at Grammy every time she came in the room! He was doing his fair share of squealing! We went to church and he was even squealing at Grammy there! I think she's egging him on! haha :-) Jake also got to see Jane, Tim, & Auntie Em over the weekend.

Jake is getting much harder to travel with since he does not want to be confined anymore. Plus, he doesn't sleep as long as he used to. We're going to be heading to Ohio this weekend which is double the travel time! YIKES! I am stocked up on Puffs for him, so I'm hoping we'll survive!

Jake is still crawling around on his tummy. He is getting places much quicker than when he first started crawling. He goes after Addy quite often and she tolerates him very well! Video below.

He also had chicken for the first time today. I gave him a tablespoon of chicken and rice baby food. The consistency was very much like his veggies and fruits, but the taste was much more savory and it threw him off guard. He finished it, so I'm hoping the rest of the introduction of meats goes the same way. I also gave him a piece of a banana cut up into small bites to see how he'd do. He had a hard time picking them up (those things are slippery). His reaction was great when he finally got one in his mouth. He puckered his lips and shook his hands and feet. I think it might have tasted sour to him compared to his banana baby food!

Today we took a quick walk because it started thundering and raining on us. Guess I should have checked the weather. It was so muggy, I don't think we would have lasted longer anyways! We also headed out to do some grocery shopping. I let Jake feel the peaches I was buying and he didn't want to let go! He loves looking and touching all the many things in the grocery store. He even managed to knock down one of the towers that holds the twist ties. He's quick with those little arms!

Tomorrow we'll start packing for our trip. Making my checklists already!
