Monkey Bizness

We're starting to get into the swing of things with Daddy gone some days late at night.  On these days, I try to go out with Jake so my day is more split and it doesn't seem as long.  Yesterday, I took Jake right next door to a place called Monkey Bizness.  We've been there once before when Jake just started to crawl, so it was a much different experience for him now that he's a walker!  We had a great time and the place was filled with kids.  Jake tends to follow the bigger kids and observe everything going on around him.  Sometimes, he would just walk around the place in a big circle, not touching anything, but just looking to see what all the kids were up to.

The bigger kids (probably around age 3), enjoyed making Jake the bad guy in all their pretend worlds.  Jake tried climbing up on their pirate tower and he was considered the stowaway stealing their gold.  At one point, Jake put on a postal service hat that covered his eyes and he walked around looking like a zombie and the kids would run away from him and whoever got tagged by Jake was out.  Nobody got tagged.  Of course, Jake didn't understand these games and was mainly excited about walking around blindfolded!  He is a character!  We found a little girl born just two days before Jake, so I thought he would want to play with her.  He took one look at her and headed the opposite direction to play with the big kids.

Videos and pictures are from yesterday and a few from a couple weeks ago, too.

I made Jake a homemade shape sorter out of all the extra boxes we had from Indy!

In my Zumba gear from Michael! Minus the slippers, of course!

So Much To Catch Up On!

We took the family down to Carmel, IN for three weeks of vacation and family time over the holidays this year.  Completely different from last year when Jake was just a month old and everyone had to come to us!  Since I have so much to catch up on, I'm going to split the pages and place pictures and videos from a certain day and tell what fun adventures we went on!  Enjoy!

Jake's first day at Grammy and Papa's was so much fun!  He had just started taking a few steps at a time and loved the wide open space to play.  He especially liked the dancing snowmen!  He eventually figured out where to turn it on at and had the snowmen playing way past Christmas time!  "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" will never sound the same to me again!

Having fun with Papa!

Grammy was excited to see Jake!

We got to go to a Christmas party hosted by Jane and her family!  It was so much fun and such a great, fun-loving family to be around!  They sang songs around the piano, read verses from the Bible, lit candles, and made us a delicious dinner!!  Jane's nieces and nephews were adorable and Jake really enjoyed playing with them.  The best part of the night was when Jake found the "Fur-real Kitty" on the table and tried to give it hugs!!
